EDITING SERVICES

You have put your best effort into writing your book, short story, or article. Now, the task at hand is bringing your words to life!

You have put your best effort into writing your book, short story, or article. Now, the task at hand is bringing your words to life! You have probably read it over and over again, making sure that it relays your message exactly as you envision it. But, when you are this close to something, the mind often doesn’t read it from the reader's viewpoint. Does it make sense? Have you forgotten a critical component of the story? Have you assumed the reader would understand it? Is it grammatically correct?

An editor’s role is to see what you, as the author, cannot see. It is more than checking for typos and misplaced commas. No! The role of an editor is to ensure that your work, no matter the genre or content, accurately and clearly shares the message you want to convey, is grammatically correct, and free of errors. Besides, the English language can be confusing with all of those words that sound the same or the funny places that commas are supposed to go! Leave it to an editing professional to make your work look and read the best, lending credibility, professionalism, and accuracy to any work. First thing first is to define the many types of editing to determine what your manuscript or article needs:

Types of Editing:

01.

Developmental editing

Looking at the overall concept of the manuscript, including the theme, tone, organization, and flow. Identifying any shortcomings in the plot, character development, and inconsistencies.

02.

COPY EDITING

Polishing the manuscript, article, or book, including word choice for clarity, grammar, spelling, and punctuation, in other words, improving the reader’s experience.

03.

final manuscript

Final review to check for minor spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors. This is usually the final step before formatting to make the project print or publishing-ready.
